Position Summary:

Our El Paso facility is a 300-person non- union food manufacturing. This plant roasts and packages nuts, seeds, and blends into a variety of rigid and flexible packages as well ships to customers from on-site warehouse. As the Plant Manager you will provide overall leadership for all aspects of the plant operations to include production efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, physical asset management, supply chain effectiveness, cost control, workplace safety/security/health, community/employee relations and human capital development. The Plant Manager owns the plant culture and the change processes needed to implement our TreeHouse Foods continuous improvement culture.

Key Responsibilities of the role are summarized below and are subject to change according to business needs:

  • Develop and execute plant-specific strategic vision, mission and objectives to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission and objectives by understanding the key success factors of the business, exercise sound judgement and inspire confidence in our customers by gaining an insight understanding of customer strategic objectives.
  • Create and communicate a clear vision for the future to inspire and drive the business to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives by providing direct oversight for the operations management team including production, engineering, maintenance, planning, procurement, quality, safety and logistics along with a strong connection to both finance and human resources.
  • Responsible for production improvements and efficiency of operations, demonstrate an ability to identify and drive continues improvements initiatives by delivering manufacturing performance and customer service.
  • Develop and manage facility budget including capital expenditures and cost management; seeks opportunities to optimize cost and demonstrates an understanding of all cost drivers and their impact.
  • Ensure all quality standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded, drive continuous process / manufacturing improvements and collaborate with Research and Development in product development and implementation.
  • Develop and foster a culture based on open / honest dialog and involvement of all team members that demonstrates the value of their input / engagement in improving performance, and drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Drives and leads a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety by ensuring compliance with the Company’s safety policies and procedures, and while also ensuring that environmental awareness and GMP’s are followed.

The successful Plant Manager will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (i.e. Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Operations), advanced degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years’ manufacturing experience in Food, Beverages, Pharmaceutical or related industry required.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a significant leadership role in a plant required (i.e. Operations Manager in a large plant or Plant Manager in a small to medium size plant).
  • Experience in employee delivered Continuous Improvement systems required.
  • Drives for results through clear focus on bottom-line, high commitment and ownership of success, leading change, commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement and driving simplification of process.
  • Strategic orientation, with thought leadership, understanding the business, creating new and different models of success as business builds, driving innovation, and shaping future strategy.
  • Team Leadership and Personal Effectiveness, communicating effectively, drives rewards and recognition, commitment to development of others, inspires integrity, ethics and trust, role model for leadership behaviors.
  • Business, Analytical, Change Management, Financial Acumen as well as excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills required. 
  • Working knowledge of USDA/FDA, SQF, GMP’s, SOP’s, Hazard Analysis required.  Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems (highly preferred). 
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.
