JOB DESCRIPTION 
Job Title: Quality Assurance Tech II

Reports to: Quality Lead
FLSA: Hourly

Position Summary
    
Responsible for the constant monitoring of all roasting procedures, raw materials, production procedures, methods, standards, overall finished product quality, environmental program and COA’s for finished product. Must support and enforce quality lead instructions and make sure other departments follow quality standards/procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct line monitoring of all production lines in operation; recording measurements and weights. If lines run poor quality, tech will be able to place product on hold and stop line if needed.
  • Assist in updating or implementing production and food safety aids such as guidelines, scaling weight charts, HACCP, GMP’s, SQF, FDA, etc.
  • Conduct daily plant walk-throughs, GMP’s audit and Food Safety Plan compliance.
  • Perform freezer or cooler inventories and place any product close to “out of date” on hold.
  • Perform inventories of product on Hold and follow up on disposition.
  • Maintain well-organized, detailed and legible records.
  • Request tests to external labs.
  • Assure samples to be sent to external labs comply with requirements.
  • Create COA’s and share them with Supply Chain department.
  • Secure samples involved and help evaluate customer complaints.
  • Update GMP training and deliver training to employees.
  • New employee orientation/training.

Food Safety Production Areas

  • Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform swabbing to support the Environmental Program and Sanitation Effectiveness and follow up on findings.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet SQF Standard and or Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become non-compliant with specified requirements.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.
  • Accountable to TreeHouse Foods safety and quality principles.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF Level 3.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Scope Data

Supervise processes plant-wide.


Working Relationship

Reports directly to Sanitation Supervisor. Works closely with other Quality Assurance

Team leader and production managers and supervisors.


Qualifications

*Must know and understand all types of nuts and allergens processed through the machine.

*Must have at least 6 months experience on a manufacture work environment.

*Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as word and excel.

*Must be able to lift, push pull and carry objects of moderate weight up to 50 pounds.

*Must be able to have a flexible schedule and be willing to work OT/Holidays/Weekends with the ability to go to any shift depending on the production demands.

*Must have basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages.

*Must be able to make conversions from Metric to English standards for weights.

*Must have a High school diploma or GED certificate.

*Must have good communication skills

*Must be able to understand, write and speak Basic English. 

*Must be able to read and write clear, legibly and effectively

*Must be able to be standing and walk long distances for extended periods of time.

*Must be able to work with a wide range of temperatures

*Must be able to effectively move around a manufacturing plant which includes but it’s not limited to stairs, ladders, platforms and equipment.

*Must be able to follow all safety policies and procedures including the use of safety equipment

*Must be able to read, understand and follow written instructions and materials

*Must be able to recognize visual signals, shapes, warning labels or signs
