Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Guide CI roll-out; lead the cultural shift to managing through pillars
  • Coordinate and support plant pillar and platform leads (e.g., 5S, Safety, planned maintenance, focused improvement, etc.)
  • Engage all associates through hands-on mentoring, audits, etc.
  • Monitor CI Implementation timeline and engage pillar leads and senior plant leadership to ensure successful completion
  • Participate in pillar activities (e.g., Kaizen events)
  • Establish—as necessary—action plans and follow-up meetings
  • Instill a “hands-on” systematic approach to problem solving (“Gemba”)
  • Facilitate cross-functional team performance; overseeing root-cause analysis, data collection, and problem solving utilizing key TPM/ CI concepts such as “Why, Why/ How, How”, Phenomena Thinking, etc.

NOTICES AND REPORTING

Plant managers and supervisors are responsible to promptly notify the Plant Manager, Environmental Engineering and/or the General Counsel, Law Department of the following situations:

  • Emergency release of materials;
  • Notice of violations with permit conditions,
  • Test results indicating non-compliance with permit,
  • Permit renewal notification,
  • Equipment malfunctions for environmental control systems,
  • Public complaints related to environmental issues,
  • Negotiations to resolve order or permit compliance, and
  • Other safety, quality, environmental or regulatory requirements as listed in plant protocol



NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as a committee member and lead for pillars


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has the direct reports of Managers Plant Continuous Improvement, Associate Continuous Improvement Specialist
  • In case of an absence of the Managers of Continuous Improvement it is the responsibility of the Manager of Continuous Improvement to make sure their tasks are covered
