Job Description:

The Customer Service System Specialist (CSS Specialist) is a position within Master Data Governance. With input from our Business Partners, the CSS Specialist, creates and maintains Customer tables.  That includes setting up relationships between Customers we “Ship to”; we “Invoice”, and we use for reporting purposes.  The CSS Specialist also creates and maintains Pricing tables, which requires an understanding of delivery methods, weight brackets, effective dates, and product changes.  The CSS Specialist participates with Business Partners from Customer Service and Finance in order to resolve pricing issues with Customer orders.


  • Gather information from business partners through email, SharePoint, Excel files or other sources to understand what tables need to be updated within SAP.  Transform the information efficiently, utilizing Winshuttle for automated entry into SAP when possible. Continually work to streamline the steps taken to complete the receipt, analytics and entry into SAP and various Legacy Systems.
  • Utilize SAP tools and reports to create and maintain master data (customer, pricing and EDI).   Use established standards to govern the entry of data to ensure consistency and when appropriate present ideas for improvement of such practices.
  • Review new pricing requests, understand how new pricing interacts with existing pricing and ensure updates are made correctly. Use SAP reports to audit current pricing and correct as needed to ensure new pricing is appropriate.
  • Perform a daily audit on pricing entered the previous day for appropriate documentation of pricing approval, as well as overall accuracy of pricing updates made.
  • Use critical thinking and logic to review, understand and catch errors in data with little to no supervision.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance to create, manage and resolve order related master data issues (customer, pricing, Inco Terms and EDI).
  • Provide master data setup and support for EDI workflow.  Setup and maintain Customer Material Info Record (CMIR), material substitution records and DUNS tables.
  • Perform weekly and monthly audits to analyze existing data for discrepancies and make corrections to achieve data consistency.
  • Projects as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred but not required.  Will consider experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate well with both internal and external partners
  • Have an understanding of the Order to Cash process
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • SAP Experience desired
