Job Description:

Accountable for multi-site plant operations, which provide products that meet quality, cost, volume and service criteria. Drives the executive strategic direction needed to achieve long-term operating and profit goals.   Formulates short- and long-term operating objectives in areas such as quality improvement, cost reduction, manufacturing/processing efficiency, and new product development.  Develops and implements plans to achieve appropriate production volumes and profit projections.  Ensures that product quality and safety standards are met within budgetary limits.  Provides financial reports and continuous feedback to management to review progress against goals.   


  • Drives strategic direction of the Company within multi-site manufacturing operations
  • Leads a culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, employee engagement and delivering sustainable performance
  • Maintains collaborative  relationships with matrixes organizations including Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Continuous Improvement, R&D, Sales/Marketing, Finance and HR and other departments in order to coordinate all phases of operations and provide optimum services
  • Directly supervises plant managers responsible for production activities
  • Provides adequate support, training and development of plant staff
  • Directs reporting of manufacturing cost controls, cost estimates, capacity plan, human capital and facility requirements
  • Directs facility capacity planning and location analysis studies to assure that production is planned and executed at the best location assuring cost, quality and service.
  • Evaluate and recommend facility capital expenditures and projects, review results upon completion including cost benefits.
  • Monitors manufacturing and financial performance and implements corrective action planning when needed to meet company objectives
  • Develop, review, modify and implement operating systems in sanitation, safety, quality, preventative maintenance, general manufacturing practices and best management practices.
  • Ensure that entire staff has the safety, customer, and quality as the overall focus.


  • Supervises 6 direct reports; 6 facilities and approximately 2,450 total facility employees.
  • Annual facility budget of approximately $200MM; sales in excess of $710MM
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and correct volume production of  2,100+ skus


  • BS/BA in Engineering, Food Technology, Business Administration, or related subject
  • Masters or MBA desirable
  • Prefer food and beverage industry experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to multiple Supply Chain and other business disciplines
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing unit operations
  • Project management skills
  • Exposure to new product commercialization and start-up procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of supply chain cost structure
  • Highly collaborative leadership style
  • Management of multiple plants and departments using financial, organizational, and administrative planning skills. 
  • Operational knowledge of equipment design, installation, operation (using project management and engineering or food technology skills). 
  • Ability to lead and promote teamwork in multiple locations across all functions. 
  • Computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and various other software.
