Key Result Accountabilities

  • Facilitate daily start up, routine production and changeover processes for assigned lines.
  • Assist with the scheduling of personnel to include training, call-outs, and Temporary employees.
  • Coordinate reprocess, including maintaining records for reprocess.
  • Collect and verify the accuracy of downtime worksheets.
  • Update and verify the accuracy of the daily production reports.
  • Collect, verify, and file the production checklists.
  • Verify production numbers with the warehouse and pack production numbers.
  • Assist department in meeting shift staffing requirements.
  • Assist the Supervisor with the implementation of the production plan for the shift.
  • Ensure that the current production schedule is being followed by production.
  • Manage the indirect material inventory levels to ensure that the demands for production are available.
  • Follow up with the Quality Control department on hold situations to facilitate the creation and implementation of new procedures into the daily production routine to prevent future issues.
  • Coordinate the maintenance work order process for Production.
  • Provide relief for operators during breaks or absences as needed.
  • Manage recovery of any non-conforming product delivered to warehouse, coordinate reworking back into production run (missing codes, incorrect coding, and any defective incidents).
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements to improve processes per the supervisors’ instructions.
  • Keep work area clean as per GMP/5S guidelines at all times.
  • Participate in projects as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all Bay Valley policies and procedures.
  • Achieve and/or exceed safety objectives for area of responsibility.
  • Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation.
  • Develop and deliver presentations as required.
  • Support Plant’s Safety Initiatives and Policies.

Specific core responsibilities of the Line Lead will include but will not be limited to:                                                                                                                 

  • Responsible for accurately updating (on an hourly basis) the line metrics for the production line. Responsible for verifying downtime data in an accurate and timely manner (within 10 mins of downtime). Responsible for initiating and writing W/O for required maintenance department interventions on the line. Ensure Line Lead Journal and all required journals are accurately updated and utilized for his/her shift. Ensure all paperwork is accurately completed and signed off. Ensure all area scans are completed at the start of the shift and that all issues are resolved and/or communicated for follow-up. Accountable for the accurate and timely execution of all material usage on the production line. Responsible for the documentation of any rework produced on the production line for his/her shift. Responsible for maintaining all established Visual Management Routines (5S) on the production line. Ensure that all production line control charts (volume, torques, weights, etc.) are updated and maintained. Responsible for ensuring effective execution of all established production floor processes. Accountable for the correct raw material usage (item number and quantity) on the production line and for the identification, quarantining, and removal from the production line any defective raw material (wrap, ingredients, boxes, rework, film, etc.) to ensure no defective or sub-standard product is produced. Responsible for the identification and systematic elimination (minimization) of production line waste streams (boxes, lids, raw material, overflow, downtime, etc.). Responsible for communicating to supervision training opportunities and requirements for the line so specific training material can be developed and implemented on the production line.
