Job Description:

The Sr. Director of Strategic Pricing is responsible for advancing TreeHouse Foods' strategic pricing capability as a critical, competitive advantage for profitable growth with our customers.  This role leads a team of managers and third-party modeling resources that develop analyses, insights and recommendations to identify margin improvement opportunities across the company. This role works closely with the Divisions and Sales teams (Central and Division) to provide predictive analysis to objectively influence and guide future bids and pricing executions and in a proactive manner. Key internal interfaces are with the Division GMs, Sales, Procurement, Division Finance & Customer Finance.

This position is the primary lead on corporate, category, and business strategies involving base and promotional pricing. This position is directly responsible for the development, delivery and execution of corporate standards, policies and best practices around pricing that are aligned to Division/Category strategies. This person will deliver long-term strategic pricing recommendations and short-term tactical ones. Will monitor macro-economic trends and inter-category dynamics to provide holistic recommendations to the business.

This individual will lead a team of 13 team members.  This position will play a vital role in driving the commercial success of the organization by evaluating and developing the effectiveness of current pricing architectures and identifying channel opportunities within the THS portfolio.

  • Lead role in pursuing price harmonization in the marketplace to mitigate business loss, improve OI and capture profitable volume via strategic pricing architecture.
  • Lead development of a "tool box" to support delivery of strategy, goals and KPI's for pricing to prepare our sales teams to dialogue more robustly with our customers.
  • Key consult with RDI team on new item (innovation) pricing.

Other critical areas include:

  • Leads analysis around all aspects of pricing such as estimating volume impacts due to changes in price, promotions, competitive response etc.
  • Leads the integration of internal and external data to drive better understanding on decisions at the business level such as financial and commodities.
  • Present results and findings in PowerPoint and other effective means of communication to directly influence business decisions.
  • Team player and cross-functional lead on departmental projects and initiatives
  • Proactively develop processes, tools and other means to establish THS as best-in-class for Margin Management capability
  • Understands and applies price elasticities and promotional lift factors effectively
  • Understands and applies modeling tactics
  • Excellent at visual display of quantitative information to ultimately drive clarity and context to all stakeholders
  • Natural inquisitiveness to exploring the data, mining the data and looking for insights to drive business decisions

 High School plus specialized training (min 6mos-2yrs)

 Master’s Degree Preferred but not required

Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):

  • 7-10 years Advanced Business Analysis with emphasis in Pricing/Trade Promotion preferred
  • 5-7 years Syndicated Data experience
  • 2-4 years of Cross-Functional Leadership/Strategy/Finance
  • 2-4 years of Customer-facing experience preferred
