As Canada’s leading supplier, we package teas, dry mixes and an extensive range of over 3,000 different grocery products. Due to our rapid growth, we are immediately looking for an experienced shift production supervisor to contribute to our continuous success. The shift production supervisor will work with our diverse team to ensure high levels of accuracy and efficiency.

Job Functions:

This position will be responsible for everyday supervision of production operations, personnel and safety procedures. The individual will be required to enforce policies and procedures to maintain safe and healthy work environment. As well, communicate and coordinate activities with other shift supervisors and Production Manager to ensure smooth production and targets are met.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, lead & coach employees through effective training & recognition.
  • Promote and lead the plant health and safety initiatives to achieve world class Safety, Health and Environmental status.

  • Work in partnership with Maintenance and Quality Assurance to assist in prevention and resolution of any equipment breakdowns and quality issues.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality requirements including GMP, HACCP, SOP, Specs…etc
  • Drive KPI improvements for areas of responsibility ( OEE, product yield, line efficiency, labour and material cost, schedule compliance etc.)
  • Provide clear direction to employees on all areas (Safety, food safety and general duties)
  • Make proactive recommendations and offer solutions to improve output and efficiencies.
  • Motivate his/her team, provide clear expectations and hold people accountable.
  • Acquire a sophisticated knowledge of the manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of food processing or manufacturing leadership experience Post Secondary education, preferably in a operations management.
  • Proven principled leadership or high level supervision including labour capacity planning.
  • Excellent communication, performance management and motivational skills.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the production plan.
  • Ability to plan, problem solve and exercise good judgment.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in Lean Manufacturing is an asset.
  • Technical knowledge of process equipment and controls.
  • Knowledge of current continuous improvement methodologies would be an asset.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and SAP ERP system would be an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in Punjabi or Hindi is a definite asset.

  • Self-motivated individual with exceptional problem solving and technical skills.
  • Works well in a diverse team environment and has the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding.
