PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCTION:

  • To produce and package a high quality product through the use of proper procedures and

adherence to good manufacturing practices and government standards in cooperation with the

Quality Assurance department.

  • To maintain and ensure the safety of all employees in the operation of equipment through pro-per training, enforcement of safety rules, and following proper procedures.
  • To maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with all company policies as

well as regulatory agency standards.

  • To understand and enforce all company policies and procedures as well as good manufacturing

practices.

  • To improve departmental efficiencies so that downtime is minimized.
  • To monitor rework levels and usage in order to keep rework levels at a minimum.
  • To monitor and control inventory levels and yields through the proper usage and reporting of raw materials.
  • To control labor costs in regards to staffing and overtime through properly adhering to the direct

labor standards.

  • To ensure constant communication with all levels of management in the areas of processing,

production, maintenance, and sanitation issues.

  • To plan and initiate cross training of employees to expand job knowledge and add flexibility to

scheduling the workforce

  • To ensure proper training of all employees with proper documentation of performance.
  • To ensure proper and accurate reporting of all daily requirements.

SANITATION:

  • Update Master Cleaning Schedule when cleaning is performed.
  • Ensure execution to Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Ensure on-time start-ups of production lines: making sure all departments and lines are cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion.
  • Manage miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Participate in the plant’s allergen control monitoring program.
  • Perform sanitation audits as it relates to allergen and food safety.
  • Ensure constant communication with all levels of management regarding sanitation issues.
  • Assist in implementation of new sanitation procedures.
  • Utilize janitors and trained employees to accomplish cleaning tasks.

Food Safety Production Areas

  • Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet American Institute of Baking (AIB), Company, and or

    Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.

  • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become

noncompliant with specified requirements.

  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients,

processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and

Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

  • Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become

noncompliant with specified requirements.

  • In the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative

duties.

 SCOPE DATA

  • Work with all areas of the operations.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP:

Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with department, company or customer associates and experience in a team-oriented environment is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Periodic lifting of up to 25 lbs, pushing and pulling on occasion.
  • Must be able to work frequently on a PC. Requires frequent typing and the ability to

view the monitor a great deal of time.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate will have a high school education with a degree in a related field preferred.

Experience (Years/Type):

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
