Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising plant operations in the Hanover Pretzel Manufacturing Facility following the current plant operating schedule (4-3-3-4) in support of 24x7 plant operation. 


Responsibilities include supervising non-union hourly team members in the function of the warehouse, although future development in other operating departments is possible.  This position is responsible for achieving targeted performance in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost, Productivity, Morale and Engagement.  Position must lead the operation in support of TreeHouse Foods Operating Principles of Simplicity, Collaboration, Imagination and Accountability and instill these principles in all team members.


Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager. This position receives general supervision and works according to standards.


Essential Tasks:

This position is responsible for directing the activities of the designated production area in order to maximize productivity, quality, and GMP expectations. This includes:

Manages warehouse staffing and assures results

Maintain records and coordinate activities with other departments.

Build teamwork by providing motivation, leadership, and training.

Be flexible in leading change initiative and take the lead in special projects.

Provide leadership and guidance for daily operation; supervise packing room staff to ensure targeted results.

Motivate and stimulate new thoughts on how to improve our business.

Coordinate staffing requirements.

Recommend and initiate personnel actions including promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, etc. in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Make communication among the team a priority.

Resolve conflicts immediately.

Provide safety and quality training to all shift personnel

Conduct monthly sanitation audits as required.

Support Quality and Product Safety programs as required.


Enforce all policies and procedures.  Establishes standards with the assistance of the Team Lead and Operations Manager and other department heads to uphold customer, regulatory and company guidelines:

Safety  (OSHA)

GMP (AIB SQF)

Quality  (Specifications)

Company policies  (CBA)

Sanitation

Manage and enforce compliance of established procedures and practices Ensures safety and security of plant and personnel by understanding emergency procedures and following through as necessary to respond to incidents Investigate and enforce compliance of company warehouse regulation Maintains workflow and meets production schedules by managing and communicating  to those above and below him

Directs the receiving of all incoming raw materials, except flour.

Directs placement into proper warehouse locations.

Maintain first in first out rotation

Coordinate transportation of bulk material from annex warehouse to main warehouse in timely fashion.

Direct and manage proper staging of finished orders to warehouse locations in advance of manufacturing

 Assures performance by establishing and maintaining department metrics

Perform cycle counts on all material shortages working with purchasing and production to validate assignable cause.

Perform other duties as may be required


Ensure safety and security of plant and warehouse personnel by developing a clear understanding of all emergency procedures:

  • Ensure timely follow through and documentation in response to all Safety Incidents. 
  • Investigate and enforce compliance of TreeHouse and OSHA regulations.
  • Lead a “Safety First” culture in packing room operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • Required to pass a drug screen and satisfactory background check
  • Required to have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Preferred to have, or working towards degree or other related field
  • Required to have 3+ year work experience in Manufacturing role
  • Must be extremely organized and communicate thoroughly verbally and written.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • High energy level; comfortable performing multiple job tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in and consistently changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little on site supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail; ability to document issues accurately and completely.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of product process and employee privacy information.
