Job Title: Warehouse Associate II

Reports To: Assistant Department Manager

SUMMARY: Processes inbound/outbound loads and materials through SAP.  Coordinates dock and yard space usage.  Assists Supervisors in coordinating activities of workers engaged in the receipt, storage, and delivery of materials, utilizing knowledge of systems, equipment, procedures, and processes related to warehousing and material movement. Provides direction and support to hourly team members in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, cost, equipment, and engagement. Foster and promote continuous improvement and a positive work environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

PRODUCTION

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights or measured items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, orders, or other records.
  • Records shortages, overages, and damages, and corresponds with Purchasing and Customer Service to achieve resolutions to issues.
  • Monitors work levels on docks and in the warehouse and communicates issues to supervisor.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Communicate effectively/appropriately with team members, supervisors, and management team.
  • Train employees in standard work practices, procedures for safety, quality, PIT certifications, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Perform activities of team members covering absences, breaks, or manpower shortages, and develops an expertise level to run all positions in the warehouse and the office. 
  • Monitors productivity, assigns rush picks, and adjusts work assignments based on work load.
  • Assists in assigning work duties based upon work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
  • Data computer entry, tracking, perform and prepare various clerical duties for management (examples - detailed reports, standard work, meeting notes, or notifications).
  • Greets visitors and answer questions.

SAFETY

Ø Interpret safety policies/practices to employees including ensuring safe work practices are followed.

  • Maintain area in accordance with 5s and Lean standards to help ensure work areas remain swept, straightened, shiny to achieve operational excellence, and drives continual improvement within the department.

Ø Perform daily/weekly safety and 5S audits

Ø Recommend measures to improve safety, quality of product, methods and equipment performance.


QUALITY

  • Cross references inbound paperwork after items are checked and received.
  • Ensure strict adherence to FEFO during stock removal
  • Ensure product quality by following standard work and communicating and coordinating inbound load requirements to team members.
  • Maintains accurate records, and assists QA with product traces and recalls.
  • Maintain area in accordance with GMP, ZIP, and BRC standards.
  • Ensure product quality and sanitation regulations are followed.

MAINTENANCE

  • Possesses an ability to navigate and troubleshoot SAP at a knowledgeable level.
  • Identifies and communicates areas of concern regarding rack or dock damages

Ø Assists maintenance in maintaining equipment as needed.

Ø Other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Directing, training and coaching 10-20 employees.

  • Certify, train, and observe material handlers on equipment as PIT trainer.

Ø Document team member issues and report to supervisor.

Ø Complete safety incident reporting documents for team members.
